Selling “Ugly” Produce

A French supermarket chain promoted the beauty of “ugly” produce—fruits and vegetables that are perfectly edible but rejected by retailers (and consumers) due to cosmetic standards. By marketing these items creatively, the campaign reduces food waste and challenges the industry norms that encourage unnecessary disposal.
